如何表達(dá)關(guān)心和勸告

朋友生病了，你一定會(huì)說“你發(fā)燒了，一定要好好休息，多喝水“，以表示關(guān)心。同樣的情況下，如果你對(duì)外國(guó)朋友說：Oh, you are having a fever. You must take a good rest and drink plenty of water.對(duì)方不會(huì)覺得你是關(guān)心他，會(huì)認(rèn)為你的話完全是多余的，心里很可能想：I surely know what I should or should not do in this situation. I am not a kid.
朋友不舒服時(shí)，中國(guó)人還會(huì)進(jìn)一步勸他去看醫(yī)生，如果你對(duì)外國(guó)朋友也這樣說：You'd better go and see a doctor.效果更不好，因?yàn)槌鞘怯迷诜浅Ｊ斓呐笥阎g，you'd better常含有“否則后果自負(fù)，出了事別怪我”的意思。(比如：You'd better work harder, or you'll fail in the exam.你要再不用功點(diǎn)，考試會(huì)不及格的。)
就是要?jiǎng)?，最好換一下語(yǔ)氣，可以這樣說：I think you need，and see doctor.或I would advise you to see a doctor.(后面還可以加上if you ask me，使語(yǔ)氣更婉轉(zhuǎn)。)也可以改用問句：Do you think it would be better / it's a good idea for you to go and see a doctor?用否定式問句(修辭問句)語(yǔ)氣很重，容不得對(duì)方不同意：Don't you think you need see a doctor?所以表達(dá)時(shí)也要慎重。當(dāng)然還可以換個(gè)角度說：If I were you，I'd，and see a doctor.對(duì)方一定會(huì)欣然接受你的建議。
說到“關(guān)心”，翻譯時(shí)要注意用詞，因?yàn)橹形?ldquo;關(guān)心”可以表示不同的意思。
本文所說的“關(guān)心”主要指“關(guān)懷”的意思，確切說，英文是show solicitude / care / concern for。其中Solicitude一詞比較正式，尤其指上級(jí)對(duì)下級(jí)的關(guān)心，如：”The Party showed great solicitude for the people in disaster area.(黨對(duì)災(zāi)區(qū)人民表示極大的關(guān)懷。)Concern和care比較常用(concern含有“擔(dān)心”的意思)，如：She showed meticulous concern/care for the homeless children.(她對(duì)無家可歸的孩子們無微不至地關(guān)懷。)也可以說show loving concern/care for。當(dāng)然關(guān)心還有其他的意思，這里我們就不一一加以說明了。
